farmers market

After the 3 busy days attending convention, I need to go to farmers because of my assignment in purchasing.

So, my husband and I went to farmers market and we was roam around. I Interviewed people and they explained us the in and outs of the market operation. As I observed, Farmers is organized and the prices are much lower especially in seafoods section compared to other wet markets.

Maybe one of these days I would like to go back there to buy some of my favorites..

Third Day

Today is the last day of the convention. We were encouraged on how to apply more fully in practical ways the fruitage of God's Spirit in our lives namely; Love, Joy, Peace, Long-Suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Mildness and Self-Control.

These qualities although sorely lacking on today's world, are what makes a person likable by God. I will strive to show those in my daily life as i go about my daily activities in the home and school.

I want to thank Him for the strength that He gave for those three days. Given my present circumstances, it would have been so doubly hard for me to wake up early everyday to prepare food, to travel for about 2 hours every day and to sit still for about eight hours had it not for His support. Thank You!

Second day

T'was the second day. We enjoy the program but my baby is getting larger every day. Most of those who saw my tummy thinks that it is my 9th month of pregnancy. I can't concentrate much on the program because he/she keeps moving back & forth. I can't sit much longer as i used to.

But we're delighted to receive the newly released book entitled "Keep Yourselves in God's Love". The book is designed to help us apply Bible principles in our daily lives. For example, It discusses vital issues such as; Why we don't participate in political voting?; Why we don't accept whole blood transfusions?; What is the Bible's view on separation and divorce?

These are some of the subjects that will is discuss in this book. And i'm going to share those truths on this blog...

First Day

Today is the first day. There were more than 7,000 of us consisiting of two circuits who gathered there to hear the program. We were so delighted to see old friends and former aquaintances. We kinda reminisced the old times that a whole day was not enough to talk to all of them. There's so much to talk about!

Tomorrow we might see other friends and we'll try to talk to a lot of them. True friends are indeed like gems, the're valuable and they bring joy to our hearts!

District Assembly

Tomorrow is the first day of our three-day District Convention to be held in our Assembly Hall in Quezon City, Manila Phils. Its theme was "Guided by the Spirit of God".

Actually it is a worldwide assembly held in hundreds of countries with the conventions in United States and Canada were the first to congregate last July and August of this year. The convention here in the Phils., were part of the last league.

What do we expect?

We are going to be strengthened in our faith in God as we listen to Bible-based talks, drama, and demonstrations that will highlight the importance of being guided by the Holy Spirit in our daily lives...

More on this tomorrow...

Quietness in the midst of Noise

While the world is engrossed in the christmas rush, we stay home for much needed rest. We'll be here for the entire holiday due to my physical constraints. But we're not lonely. We have much time to spend with each other - talking about life, our future, our baby and everything under the sun!

We cherish every moment, the quietness of the home devoid of sadness... We hope that some will also find enjoyment in peace and quietness of life as we reflect on the prospects ahead of us...

holiday!

Last sunday we had a great party. The thing I really enjoyed was looking at my staff hitting the earthen jar. I put candies, chocolates, coins and a surprise gift written on the paper. They were 10 contestant.

On the first round they did not win so, they hit the earthen jar without blindfold. They were like children grabbing and scrambling for their prizes.. It's so funny! (hahaha)!!!..

Today, is their last working day. Some are travelling now bound to Surigao del Norte, Bicol and Tarlac. The others will stay until tomorrow.

Me, my husband and rambo will stay here in the city. Our house will be silent until january 5.

Have a goodnight sleep!.

Don't Judge the Book by it's Cover

I started reading the book "The Alchemy". Looking at the yellowish-sepia-colored cover i thought that it would be a 'not-my-interest-kind' of book. I don't feel that instant urge to start reading it but i just kinda force myself knowing that it's our assigment for discussion come school time next year. But as i browse and partially read the Author's Introduction, i would say that i misjudged the book.

I found his observation regarding life's obstacles to pursue our dream is quite true; childhood/family influence; misplaced love; fear of defeat; and the fear of realizing the dream.

I promise myself that i WILL finish this book and i WILL pick as many golden nuggets as much as i can and apply it in my life as i pursue my dream of cooking good food and serving it to the world!

Been a busy day!

Sunday is a very busy day. After meeting my spiritual need this morning, i started to prepare the menus for my first food presentation not just for picture taking but also an additional food for our company year-end party to thank them for their efforts and sacrifices for the year 2008.

I hope that i can garner good points for my presentation as my staff were so eager to eat them.

I'd like to thank them for their assistance and support...

Back to Rambo

In the beginning honey doesn't like rambo. He always kick him out.. He used to urinate and do dirty things inside our home. He bite our slippers, sofa ans stairs. Rambo eat our left over food in the rubbish bin, he is so wild!.

Sometimes rambo escape in the gate and I chased him that's why i had scars on my knee.
But, we disciplined our dog until we found his good attitude. He is so friendly, joyful, playful..
Sometimes we felt our dog is more than a human in terms of showing manners. He is only barking but does not bite people. When you look at my dog you will feel scared because he is big and has a loud voice but it's an opposite..

That's it for now..

Today

Today, i did a lot of things.
Today, i started to do my assignments for the coming year.
Today, i accomplished those with only a little help from others.
Today, i thought that was a good start for me.

Today, we were visited by our friend.
Today, we were happy to know that we don't have to buy many things for my incoming baby.
Today, we were encouraged not to be overly worried for becoming a new parent.
We were happy if only for today...

It's Sunday!

Today is Sunday, and as usual, is a time to nourish ourselves spiritually. We try hard to put it's prominence in our lives to strengthen our hope & uplift our spirits amidst the depressing & worsening world conditions.

We congregate every week to worship together & study God's Word.

In the afternoon, we visit our neighbors and tell them about God's magnificent purpose on earth that will happen soon. We talk to a lot of people and hopefully the message that they heard will give them real hope and purpose someday.

Yucky!!!

Last Wednesday before the last day of our class, my stomach is craving for a Filipino dish since i was feeling hungry as we going home at about 11 am.

As we traverse Makati Ave., we decided to eat at Barrio Fiesta thinking that my palate & my craving will be satisfied. So i ordered two pieces of fried 'Hito'(fish) along with steamed rice and a Bicolano native vegetable dish called 'Laing'. Soren ordered 'Sinigang na pla-pla' (a Tilapia fish stew) for himself, because 'sinigang' are one of his favorites.

We waited for about 25-30 minutes before our meals came in. By that time we're really hungry, so we devoured the fragrant steamed rice, the sinigang and the fried hito. But the laing is curiously absent. Soren being instinctly inquisitive, has some wild thoughts rushing to his mind on why the laing is delayed when the sinigang which is a follow-up order only was already half-eaten.

His and my suspicion were validated by the sight and smell of the laing when it finally came.

The smell is burnt. You can't see the leaves and the texture of the vegetables. The cream of the coconut milk was nowhere, the green patina of the vegies were gone, instead the color is watery yellowish and it tastes awful, so yucky! for the price of 275 pesos(?) per order!!!

Up until now i can't imagine how did it happen! For a restaurant like Barrio Fiesta, already an established name in Filipino food, why did it happen? Was it an accident, was it the first time? Were we so unfortunate to dine there?

The ironic thing happened once we arrived home. There, we found that our househelp bought a 'Laing' from a nearby eatery. It was so authentic and so yummy for the price of only 30 pesos per order!

Wondering why out loud...why did we dine THERE in the first place?
BUT i won't be fooled again by that name...

First Time

In my whole life, i've never been exposed to blogging until now...

It is so unknown during my working days!

As a Marketing Manager of a regional newspaper, my job was to thread & roam the streets of Metro Manila looking for clients who will place their ads from Government Agencies to Private Companies. At first, it was so hard to find a client since they don't know me. But i always visit them almost every other day and bring them gifts for them to remember me and my newspaper. I was so pesky that eventually they gave in to my proposals.

In this field patience is so important, well i guess in whatever field of endeavor patience is necessary. Oftentimes, i'll come home late only to be awaken by an early call from my boss for an unexpected breakfast appointment. I am just thankful that my hubbie is so understanding!

Being in the marketing is sometimes depressing and can shoot your anxiety level upwards. Not a few nights i can't even sleep, anxious to what will happen the following day. But when your hardwork bore fruit, it is so rewarding that you temporarily forgot what had you've been through! Yehey!

My commissions please!!!

I need it, thanks!

Well, today was the last day of class for 2008. After going thru the initial phase of studies i am just relieved to take this break...I am happy that i survived it with all the adjustments, assignments and all that.

I am sure that this vacation will be good for my health, my baby's health, my emotional and spiritual health.

I would like also to take this opportunity to thank my professors for bearing my inconveniences, my classmates who help me in more ways than one, Soren for waking early & climbing the stairs with me, guards who are understanding.

And lastly, thank you my baby for being healthy and for giving me more inspirations in life.

See you all in 2009!

First Impression

I started to read the book "Who moved my cheese?" last Sunday. I did not finished it yet but I found it so realistic, an eye-opener. I find the character of Hem as if reading my own self. I felt like I am more like him(?)

I seldom finished reading any book before but this time I promise to finish what I have started for me to see the needed changes that I have to make.

Quality Time

My husband and I went to Kingdom Hall this morning. Our topic is about God Jehovah's "Beaming Eyes" Examine All.

How do you fell about people who take a genuine interest in you? Someone offer an honest opinion when you invite them to do so, When you need help, they provide generously, When you need counsel, they offer it in love. Jehovah and his son are just like that. God Jehovah watch us like a caring parent. God does not simple look at us, he examines us. Jehovah sees the heart, who really are at heart. He expressed his love through the instructions and discipline through his own word "The Holy Scriptures" and in spiritual food dispensed by the "Faithful and discreet slave".

We can respond to his fatherly training by listening to Him always and we need to keep ourselves humble before him because according to (Mattew 18:4) - "Whoever will humble himself like this young child is the one that is greatest in the kingdom of heavens"..

That's what I'ved learn.

So disappointing!

I went home early because I still don't have my uniform back. They did not allow me to do my duty as a STUDENT ASSISTANT. I almost cried because I woke up early this morning at 5 o'clock and I'ved waited for 2 hours because our instructor told us that we need to report at school ahead of time but they did not come early..

My! Oh my!.. I don't wanna comment! It's not my fault of having no uniform..

Well, on a positive side, it's good for my baby because we rest ourselves a bit to refresh us for the next week's grind.

My Baby and my "Baby"

Well, today is my check-up to Obstetrician-Gynecologist. I saw my little baby and it was formed already. I gained 2 pounds after 3 months of my pregnancy.. After that, I rest the whole day! hehehe.. I love it!.

Let me tell you about my dog name Rambo. He is half half. From German Shepherd breed and Australian breed. He is a mutt. He can scuttle like a little leopard. His color is almost golden brown and his eyes are human-like. He is almost 11 years old and yet still strong like a 3 year-old dog. My friend in Pangasinan gave it to me when he was just 3 months old. When I took him home he has a lot of lice and cattle tick, it's so yucky!..

But I patiently clean him, take out all the lice he has. Believe me, his soap is 3 times expensive than mine and it's really expensive..

To be continued...

Challenge..

We were scolded by our chef instructor today because we supposed to read the topic he discussed today but we did not.. Sorry for that because we are so busy last week. Some of my classmates got sick because of the stressed. Actually, yesterday we are only 6 students who attended the class. I hope our chef sometimes will understand our situation because we are still adjusting but were getting used to it..
